How To Treat Bad Breath

Bad breath cause and treatment

Learn how to treat bad breath!

Having bad breath is not an attractive attribute, but you are not alone.  More than 80 million people suffer halitosis, or bad breath, and it can be an annoying occurrence.  Most cases of bad breath result in excess of plaque or bacteria on the gums and tongue.  Luckily, treating bad breath is very simple and can be done from the comfort of your home.

Stay Hydrated

If you want to treat your bad breath, you need to keep yourself hydrated by drinking water throughout the day.  Having dry mouth can lead to bad breath because plaque can build up on your tongue and gums. When you drink water, it washes away all of the food particles and bacteria in your mouth.  Make sure to drink plenty of water in the morning to prevent “morning breath.”

Focus On The Tongue

An effective way to treat bad breath is to brush or scrape your tongue.  Plaque and bacteria tend to build-up on your tongue, so make sure to focus on that area when brushing.  You can find a tongue scraper at any drugstore. Make sure to clean the back of the tongue as well as the front.

Brush and Floss

One of the simplest and most effective ways to treat bad breath is brush and floss your teeth daily.  Make sure that you are brushing your teeth at least two times a day for two minutes at a time. You want floss between your teeth at least one time a day to get rid of any food particles and plaque that you cannot get during brushing.  You want to make sure that you are taking your time while brushing and flossing your teeth so that you get rid of my plaque as possible.
