Your Diet Means A Lot

If you’re into fitness, you may have heard the phrase, “you can’t outwork a bad diet.” When you have a healthy diet, it positively impacts your overall health and dental health. There is no way that you can get around eating foods that are right for you. If you eat the wrong foods consistently, it can cause tooth discoloration, tooth decay, and of course, other health issues. We’re not saying that you shouldn’t enjoy a pumpkin spice latte sometimes, just not every day. 

Fiber-rich foods (e.g., apples, carrots, celery, etc.) should always be in your healthy foods inventory. Foods like these help you to produce saliva, which fights tooth decay and protects against cavities. Also, ensure that you’re getting enough calcium and Vitamin D in your diet. 

How to Ensure That Only the Leaves Are Yellow This Fall 

This tip once again refers to what you eat. Some foods cause tooth discoloration, so we advise that you limit them. If you don’t want a dull or discolored smile, we suggest you restrict:

  • Teas (darker teas particularly)
  • Coffee 
  • Red Wine
  • Tomato-sauce-flavored dishes 

If you are going to indulge in these foods, we suggest that you brush your teeth afterward. If you are not home, try rinsing your mouth out with water or chewing gum. The point is that you don’t want to allow any residue to sit, and you want to produce saliva to help break down bacteria.
